Can I fix my severed cable?

Hi guys.

Today I managed to snap my headphone cable in half. The headphones in question are the B&O form 2i. Iv looked around the forum but my problem is unique as the cable has snapped exactly where the cable from the right and left speakers join into one cable.

First remove the little plastic piece where the connections split. Strip both ends of the wire, and on the end with the jack, use a multimeter on continuity mode to figure out which wire is left, right and ground. You may have to melt off some of the insulation first.

On the end with the headphones, solder the ground wires from each ear to the ground of the jack, and left to left and right to right. Then test your wiring with this vid

After you are finished, insulate the connections with electrical tape and hot glue it together.

It all okay! I simply cut of the rubber insulation and joined the wires by simply twisting them around each other and insulating them with electric tape. I even managed to get the controls to work (the mic should work too but I have yet to test it).
