What happened between you being able to connect to wireless networks and not being able to connect to them? Did you drop your phone? Did you install a new software? Are you still paying the telecom company to use their service? What kind of wireless network are you talking about, WiFi or GPRS/EDGE/3G? You have to be more specific than "It doesn't work."

Hi! Does it show the wireless networks but give an error when you try to connect to one, or is it now simply failing to "pop up" and show you wireless networks when you know you are within range of one?

If you go into settings/wi-fi, you should make sure that "Ask To Join Networks" is turned on, and that wi-fi is on in general (at the top of that screen). Also, from that screen you can see details of each network, etc.

Let me know if it's something more complicated than that.

also try resetting your network settings

go into Settings -> General -> Reset - then tap on Reset Network Settings

I believe that it is a hardware issue, none of the above worked..Steve

You might want to completely wipe your phone and re-load the OS, just to absolutely rule out software as the issue. It would also help testing Liam Speirs' theory below that it could possibly be due to jailbreaking or non-standard software.

I beleive the software that screwed it up for me was "MyWifi" A new tethering/broadcasting app from "Rock" a new jailbroken app store.

I also have the same problem I believe it may be an issue related with jailbreaking and additional programs. I installed one or two programs I shouldn't have and now my wifi doesn't work. Resetting network settings does nothing. I assume un-jailbreaking/resetting to factory settings would fix things, try it out if this seems like your situation.

I experience a similar issue on a not jail broken 3G with 4.1 os. It is able to find and connect to the wifi network only within a distance of 10' from my router. Is could be a 4.1 os bug?
