No picture, no sound, no menus, blinks on commands

My old Sony Bravia KDL40U2000 served me superb in about 10 years but now stopped suddenly, No picture, no voice.

Can not see to the menu or anything else. (The back light is OK).

The unit reacts to the remote control, as can be seen on the blinking green LED.

Tried factory reset (as per the original specific maintenance manual) - No avail.

As I can not see anything, I do not know the state of the unit, but I tried several sources (HDMI, PC, SCART) for no avail.

I opened the back (yes, I am an elect. eng.) and could not see any damaged component (capacitors, transistors, etc.).

Before going deeper to measure voltages etc,. I would like t know if anyone had this before, and suggested fix.

I do have all the schematics as provided with the unit.

Thanks

Sam

Do you get any blink code form the front LED?

I'm sure you know how to recognise failing electrolytic capacitors by the domed tops or leakage. You might just try replacing the larger ones anyway for good measure.
