After replacing LCD and Digitizer, my screen is still black?

I bought a new LCD and Digitizer for my iphone 3G. After replacing them both, my screen will not turn on. I know the phone works because it makes sound when I plug it in, and it registers with itunes. Also, I connected a friend's front panel to mine, and it worked. Did I do something wrong during my installation? All the connectors are securely in place. Any suggestions?

It does not work after a hard reset. It is definitely the right part. Wondering, is it possible to blow an LCD? If the phone was charged when I installed the new LCD, could that be the issue?

it may just need a simple reset- hold power and home for 10seconds

try putting your new screen in your friends...if it doesn't work then you'll know where the problem lies.

is it the right part ? 3g and 3gs are not interchangeable screens

Yes try putting the Iphone in recovery mode using recboot, and exit recovery mode using recboot.
