Do I need to replace my whole phone?

I dropped my phone, only about three feet, and the screen shattered and only shows me vertical, colored lines. Can I replace the screen or do I have to replace my whole phone?

(if anyone knows how to add a picture, I have one of it.)

You don't need to replace the whole phone. Sounds like you only need to replace the screen in this case.

What you are seeing is the LCD being damaged with the glass shattered like you said. Replacing the screen should get it back up and running.

You can buy the screen here if you want to repair it yourself:
