How to change the power switch?

Hi Everyone,

I had to change the power switch because the silver piece that you push fell off. Here is what I did:

I took off the screen, and logic board.

I unscrew the 2 screws where the power switch goes and installed the new one.

Put back everything together.

Now it doesn't want to power on. What can be the problem? The board is 100% working. I had installed a new battery before I changed the power button.

Maybe I did something wrong.

Any ideas why it doesn't want to power on now after power switch replacement?

Any help will be great.

P.S. I didn't take out the battery before I replaced the power switch. Should I have done that?

i'm sure someone will say yes, but i haven't had a problem as long as phone has been powered off before i started

check out step 18 to see how the power switch sits in slot. there's a tiny little bit of plastic that silver ring sits on that holds it in place, it slides back down easily when you try to screw plastic housing back on. trial and error is mostly the only way...

The power button seems to be perfectly in. The phone was off when I changed the switch. I don't know if I should change the entire cable (flex cable) or would it need another new battery? Confused. Thanks for your help

check connector ?5 or 6, also make sure connector 4 for dock is on properly. lastly check battery... is it legit? is connection to mainboard good-prongs up, screwed in properly?
