About the yellow tint on top of the Screen on my SE

So I recently bought an iPhone SE last week and when I got it, I noticed this yellow tint on top of the screen. It can be clearly seen when viewing calendar, messages or others apps that displays white images... I literally don't know what's happening with my phone.. When I got it checked on the nearest Apple Store, they said its just normal because their iPhone SEs there also have this yellow tint.. Then when I researched in the Internet, it says that it's due to the glue residue thing on the screen.. It will disappear in a few weeks.. Other people says it's a hoax and other people says its true.. I had this phone for already a week and a half and it's still there.. Do you guys also have this issue? And does it really fades away in a few weeks? I do get really distracted on the yellow tint on top.. Thanks Guys .. By the way.. It turns two weeks tomorrow..

Haha people saying it's a hoax. It's 100% true. It's like the LOCA liquid glue between the digitizer + polarizer and LCD if I'm correct that's where the glue sits between. The LCD and the glass.

It is supposed to go away after some time as the heat from the LCD screen or the ambient temperature outside the phone should let the glue even out on the screen and set properly.

Yellow markings on the screen are due to some sort of pressure due to too much glue being at one spot which would need to even out which like I said before heat and time should do the trick.

And usually you only see this on aftermarket, refurbished or low quality screens (let's hope it's not the last one).

Per Apple's opinion, this is acceptable manufacturing tolerances. There is no warranty or fix for this because it is never a problem to begin with.

So just live with it.

Frankly, this is a pretty disappointing response from Apple and if it was 2016, I would be returning it to Apple. Now it's 2021 and I still love this phone, ifixit sells new displays for the iPhone SE, do they also say that this is "acceptable tolerance"? I was going to replace it just to get rid of those yellow lines. (I have them down the right and left-hand sides of the phone and will be replacing the battery anyway).

I doubt Ifixit would say that yellow all over the screen is “acceptable manufacturing tolerances.” Ifixit’s support in my experience is very easy to work with, especially better than apple. It doesn’t hurt to buy one and return it if it is yellow! I agree, the yellowing is weird, and is very un-apple like, especially b/c it’s a flagship phone company.@jezagee

Yes, I agree, that has been my experience with ifixit also. When I bought my SE I just thought the yellowing was because it was old, when I started researching and came across this post I was shocked to hear that it was a problem with some phones from new. @Dylan Devries
