How to remove adhesive glue?

Hi everyone,

I'm replacing the glass of my iPhone 3GS because it was cracked. I have separated the glass from the bracket with a heat gun. But how do I remove the glue residue that is left behind?

Thanks,

naf

I use isopropyalcohol as it's not likely to cause liquid damage to any parts and either a small flat head screw driver or plastic spudger tool to scrape it off. it's fiddly and annoying but you can also just use your fingers to roll it and pull it off.

With a q-tip, try using a bit of Goo Gone or Goo Off. A small amount goes along way. After you've removed the residue, use another q-tip with ALCOHOL to remove any oils left behind by the Goo Gone/Goo Off. That's what I do for all my electronics.
