Chronic Sound and Airport Failure

PowerBook G4 Aluminum 17" 1.5GHz 2003-2004

A little while back I decided to purchase two PowerBook G4 17" models for spares, and made one aesthetically pleasing functional model. But 1/20 times the sound will work, which bothers me, but it doesn't bother me as much as the fact that it will not connect to either my 802.11B/G/N network or my Airport network. It also will not power on with an official Apple charger, and I have to use a really bad Amazon charger.

Answer this question I have this problem too

First I would replace the DC-In board. Here's how: PowerBook G4 Aluminum 17" 1-1.67 GHz DC-In Board Replacement

Here's a source for the part: http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Apple-PowerB...

Next go into the system profiler and see if the airport card is being seen. Hook up to a hard wired ethernet cable and see if it will log on to the internet. Let us know your results.

Ethernet works, and it recognises the AirPort Card, but the Airport card doesn't recognise my Asus router nor my Aorport network consisting of some old pre-G4 Quicksilver Airport Base Stations

Did it ever recognize then or is his something new?

This is nothing new, I've always had trouble with this machine connecting to my wireless networks
