Touchscreens going crazy because of my old laptop's charging cable?

I just noticed how my ipad's touchscreen was reacting erratically to touch. I would press one part of the screen and the response would be somewhere else. When i checked my iphone, it had the same problem, though not as bad as on the ipad. I was really stumped as to why it was happening to both devices at the same time and then realized that my old laptop's touchspad has been problematic the past few days as well. Today it totally died on me. I was going to turn off my old laptop and by chance unplugged it before shutting down, and suddenly the touchpad was fine. When i plugged it back in, touchpad was dead again. I realized the problem was with the plug, but could it also be the cause of the touchscreen problems on my iphone and ipad? They seem to be working ok now that the laptop is unplugged.

Are you using a original or replacement charger for the notebook computer? If the charger is not original, chances are that it is of poor quality and is injecting noise into the computer and the connected devices, causing the touch screens to not work very well because they work by sensing electrical fields.

Yes you'r right, the charger is a replacement, though not quite poor quality as it has lasted me several years befor it started acting up a few days ago. Thanks for the reply!
