After reading forum answers on why the mower dies when blades are engaged or brake is let off I need to check safety switches but I don't know where they are on this mower. Under the seat yes but where are the others? Craftsman 18.5 42" 917.273642 lawn tractor THANK YOU IN ADVANCE :)

kmehums check the manual 917273642.pdf and parts list page 33 and more. There seems to only be the seat switch, PTO switch and ignition switch as well as the switch interlock. There should be one more on the clutch/brake . Checking the schematic it looks like even if the other switches were bad, they still go through the seat switch. So anything that that grounds the M terminal of the key switch kills spark. Follow the wires to determine position and make sure that is okay as well.

All that schematic tells you is that there is one not where it is. Where is it?

There are two more one under gas tank that works off brake pedal/parking brake second is on the blade ingauge handle you have to remove gas tank for either

I have a R110 craftsman riding mower and while in use I mowed over a concrete paver that was as low in the ground as the grass and the blades did not hit the paver but immediately the mower did shake a little and then stopped. Thus far I cannot get it started again. It clicks when key turned but will not turn over. Does anyone know what might be wrong. It is only one year old, new battery, new gas, new spark plug. No other idea, any suggestions?

I have the same problem as above and there still no helpful answer. Can this be a new problem for this mowers with no solution...yet?
I have the sears LT1000 (green color). There is a safety switch under the control level that engages the mower blades. I have to lift the level and lower it to be able to start the motor sometimes. Also there are safety switches at brake pedal and of course under the seat. hope that helps someone.

Only one I know of is under the seat. Mabey on where u put your feet on platform.
