Is is possible to replace a damaged CPU or power on device?

Galaxy S6 shut off and will not power on. Phone will charge using wireless charger. But phone will not power on. Took it to a repair shop and they believe it is the CPU. Trying to figure out way to power on device to extract the information in it. All I'm concerned about is the information on the phone.
