Why wont it load my OSX disc on my new hard drive?

My hard drive recently went out on my macbook. Got the ol folder with the question mark. So I bought a new 250gig SATA drive but I can not load My OSX on it. It just keeps spitting out the disc.

I would purchase a cleaning disk from Radio Shack or a similar store and run it several times in the drive. After that I would check that all my connections are good. Are you sure your disc is the correct one and in good condition? Will the drive accept any other disk?

I got it as far as starting to load the OSX. But its freezing and it sounds like the cd just quits.
