Recording studio help size ect..
I'm looking at a early 2011 8,1 icore5(dual)I think 2.3ghZ 4gb/13333mhz ddr3x lion that's all I know. Will it work for home recording studio???

It's pretty much an entry level machine. Plus there are known issues with both the 13" & 15" MBP GPU. It took a class action law suit for Apple to take care of the 15 & 17" models. https://www.apple.com/support/macbookpro...
The suit did not cover the 13" models and I feel it should have as I've seen far to many with the same problem.
I would much rather see you get into a 2009-2012 Mac Pro. Those are upgradable, you can use your midi cards, upgrade the RAM and graphics cards. add USB 3 card. Drop in 128 MB of RAM. I'm using an SSD as boot drive with 3 other hard drives. It's much more of a business machine. 27" monitor. I'm using a :

My SSD boot drive actually makes this machine much faster than the standard.

You can always do your upgrades later. Compare the speed difference between the 2009 machine and the 2012. There is very little difference.

Look at the phenomenal differences in speeds between even a 2009 Mac Pro in 64 bit mode vs a 2015 27" iMac. They aren't even in the same ballpark.
