2 White vertical Lines on edge of screen, unresponsive on touch

A few months ago, my screen shattered and I decided to replace it by myself. I bought everything and all the right tools. I was able to replace the lcd and screen and the phone was brand new again, apart from the fact that the body of the iPhone was a little bent. However, the phone worked perfectly. Yesterday I dropped my iPhone from waist height and it was nothing major. It fell on the top right hand edge of the screen and there were no physical damages. However, once I turned on the phone I saw that on the right of the screen there were 2 vertical white lines. I had previously encountered this before when I replaced the screen so I knew that it was the flex cable not fully connected inside the phone. I opened it and cleaned it out and reconnected it and turned it back on but nothing changed. The screen works perfectly apart from the last 1cm on the right of the screen which has the lines and it is unresponsive to touch. I checked the flex cables and I didn't see any tears or pinches and I cleaned it with with a q-tip but it still doesn't change. I reconnected it at least 10 times and it was always the same. I am not sure if I can replace the lcd flex cable since it is attached to the lcd. So is there anything I can do to fix it or will I have to buy another whole screen?

Unless you want to attempt a glass only repair, yes

Here's a video how

Here's a listing of parts

I gotta say though. The video makes it look easy. It's a pretty difficult repair. Not to mention you need the adhesive to complete the repair

I had actually just seen that video previously today. It looked pretty though and I don't think I am up for that challenge. In addition, i can't imagine how difficult it must be to remove just one piece of glass with a card. However thank you for the response, do you have any other tips that don't involve me having to replace my screen?

I would recommend a full display assembly replacement. You can find cheaper displays around. However, with third party parts, usually yields third party problems

I would use this

iPhone 6 LCD and Digitizer

With this

There is nothing you can do as a DYI repair except replace the whole screen assembly.

Prices have come down, it should be affordable. iFixit sell original-like quality screens that I highly recommend.

Again, replacing a flex or refurbishing a screen is not a DIY repair, or don't expect a good outcome; and besides it could be the LCD itself which is damaged, in which case refurbishing is useless.
