White screen, not recognized

Basically when turning the phone on it goes to the white screen, after a while it fades then goes blank then back to white screen. When plugged into a mains charger it will turn on to the white screen, same when its plugged into computer but itunes wont recognize it. Done different button pressing, taken screen off to have a look and everything seems ok.

Could this be the battery been dead and not enough charge.

Or the dock connector

How can i test to see if the motherboard is ok?

Cheers

clean connector 1, reseat and reset phone. has the phone been dropped? water damage? check the 2 stickers on mainboard (first is top left, second is bottom right-small stickers with black ring-white is no water, pink is water damage)

check connector 4 for dock connector.

sounds like is LCD +/- dock connector as you say.

if LCD problem isn't resolved try known good LCD in iphone to see what happens. if still white screen may be backlight.

to check motherboard you could borrow a friends phone and swap the boards. or you could use infrared thermometer to look for cold spots
