Adding a 2nd Hard Drive to Late 2014 iMac Retina

I have a Late 2014 27-inch Retina iMac with a 512 GB SSD. I'm running out of space and would like to add a second internal hard drive. I already have a 4 TB drive that is less than a year old that I pulled from my older iMac when the iMac died and would like to use that drive if possible. So two questions: Is it possible? If possible, do I need a special cable?

Answer this question I have this problem too

It definitely is possible, but it's a tough and risky job. Please read through the excellent answer Dan gave in a previous similar question, he mentions all pros and cons carefully.

Adding a 2nd SSD. Are cables included?

His suggestion at the end just to opt for an external thunderbolt 2 enclosure makes so much more sense, that I can only fully agree with him. Please consider the 'easy' way out before attempting a risky operation :)
