Can I fix my cracked screen and still retrieve data?

My phone (Lumia 1020) fell and the screen is cracked. I am hoping to recover my pictures from it, and most repair places say that to change the screen they will erase the memory. Is there any way I can change the screen myself and fix the phone to recover the data?

Lina Fajardo yes you can. Changing the display will not cause your data to get lost. Here is a video that will help you with this task.
