HowTo upgrade Bluetooth 2.1 (board BCM92046MD) to 4.0

Hi,

I have an iMAC 8.1 early 2008 A1224

with OS X : El Capitan (10.11.5)

Bluetooth config. :

- LMP version : 2.1 (0x4)

- Bluetooth Low Energy Supported: No

- Fabricant : Broadcom (carte* : BCM92046MD)

More Specif.

I'd like to upgrade the Bluetooth 2.1 (board: BCM92046MD) to 4.0

(HowTo replacement page)

Can I replace my Bluetooth board by more recent one? (any references?)

Any special things to do if such replacement is possible?

Many thanks to all,

Etchaf.

Yes you could upgrade your AirPort board to a newer combo WiFi/Bluetooth board. You will need the following kit: iMac 2009, iMac 2010 & iMac 2011 upgrade kit

You may want to also review this site if you are looking at Continuity support: Continuity Activation Tool
