Revamped version of the iPhone 3G with faster processing speeds. Repair of this device is similar to the 3G, and requires simple screwdrivers and prying tools. Model A1303 / 8, 16 or 32 GB capacity / black or white plastic back.

"This accessory is not optimized for this iPhone" Error warning.

I am getting, at somewhat random intervals an error message (see above) it continues with "you may experience interference (etc etc)"

The warning appears even when nothing is connected to the iPhone and if the iPod function is active it stops the music. It also appears to reduce the battery run out time. I have already installed a new battery (1600mah) but no change.

Any ideas what this could be?

Try cleaning the dock connector. There might be something shorting out one of the pins, and causing this error. A toothbrush is good for this.

The trouble was in the dock connector, cleaning with toothbrush and air pressure did not cure it. I have now replaced the dock connector and everything seems ok. Thanks for the help

GOT IT FIXED! After reading all the stuff about this error, I got a can of compressed air and blew out the connector port. IT WORKED! Immediately the error went away. EAST FIX!

Hi,

this message should only appear if a non Apple accessory is connected. Take a look at your dock connector. Maybe something in there is bend and causes a short or something sticks in there causing a short.

Thanks for that. I found the same info on Apple iPhone forums and am working on it.

Waited 1 more day to see what happens! It really is ok now. Inspecting the old dock connector under a magnifying glass reveals no damage so I don´t really know if it´s broken or if it was just the operation of replacing it that solved the problem. Whatever, thanks a million for helping to make that annoying window go away.

spray alittle polish onto toothbrush and lther, not wet the connector. wipe with a dry cloth and blow hard into it for a minute.

Worked fine for me and no problems for days now.!!!
