How to remedy squirm in cable

I have that squirm problem in my power supply cable, (low-voltage side) where the internal wires seem to be twining in a different direction than the outer sheath wants them to go. The effect is concentrated towards the plug end, where there is also a ferrite tube moulded into the cable sheath.

I wondered if there's any technique whereby the cable could be massaged so that things go back into place.

The cable and power supply works fine, so this is more of an issue of the cord being difficult to coil neatly when packing the unit away.

It's for a laptop computer. The power supply is a Dell, model No. FA90PM111.

Try warming it with a blow dryer then work out the squirm

if you do then wrap it around a stick or something warm it again let it cool on the stick and you will get a pig tail cord lessening the squirm and easier packing
