Replaced LVDS cable, no more lines in screen but different issue.

Greetings,

I just replaced the LVDS cable on a friends Macbook A1260. Initially the screen would flicker with horizontal and vertical lines in the screen and it would get worst when you tapped on the LCD.

I replaced the LVDS cable, put everything back together and the lines are now gone but I face another issue. I notice now when I tap on the screen and/or slightly press in/bend the screen I get weird color distortion. As if the screen was pressed on and ink exploded. When I tape on the screen again it goes back to normal.

I was just wondering, does this have anything to do with the LVDS cable, inventor or is it the LCD? (which I believe it to be) .. just wanted some clarification.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

In all honesty, I purchased the LVDS cable from a seller on Ebay who has great feedback and an old account. They claim the part is 100% tested and working... I know :D

Don't press on the screen. They will do that every time.

Thanks for the response. I forgot to mention that the screen flickers also when opening/closing the lid... ?

That's not good. What was your source for the part?
