Unable to boot: No boot options

I have dual booted Windows10 and Ubuntu 14.04, which has been working properly for about two weeks. I then had issues with grub (it would boot straight into Windows), which I fixed using boot-repair on my Ubuntu installation usb. After fixing that and checking to make sure both Windows and Ubuntu work, I continued working from my Ubuntu side for 6 hours. Everything worked. I shut off my computer properly for the night and when I booted it up again this morning it went straight to BIOS with no boot options. Can someone please help me?

I think your HDD failed, can you hear any clicking or odd noises from the HDD?

Definitely sounds like a hardware failure. It can be anything. Motherboard, cables connecting your HDD, the HDD itself, or maybe the power supply. You need to open your laptop and start reseating connectors and swapping parts for ones known to be functional.

Update: Turns out a screw from the hard drive bracket got loose and lodged itself between the only two exposed pins on the hdd. I carefully removed that screw and put it back in its original place. Everything works fine now! Thank you for your suggestions!

I would first remove the hard drive and hook it up to another computer externally and check the hard drive before taking things apart.

Dual Boot configurations can be glitchy especially having different types of file systems on the same drive, so it may not even be a hardware issue.
