Very hot home button - Phone won't turn on

Hello,

I've had my iPhone 6s for ages now and have had no problems until today when it turned off by itself. When I realised this I tried to turn it back on but it was unresponsive.

I had plenty of battery power prior to this, and was even using it to take a photo just minutes before. I put it down for a few minutes, came back to it and it felt that the home button was extremely hot and the phone wouldn't turn on. It has been 2 hours now and still no luck turning it on, and the home button is still hot.

I've googled this but can't find much information on how to fix it, just that others have had this problem too.

Is there any information you can give me to help me fix this? I would hope going into an Apple store for a replacement would be my absolute last resort, but if that's what I have to do then so be it.

Thank you,

Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth,

This sounds like a fault with the device, I would highly recommend that you take it to an Apple Store with it being in warranty, because if you take it somewhere else, and they can not fix your problem, you are then stuck with the device, as your warranty will be voided and Apple will not touch it. :-)

This just happened to my brand new iPhone 6s. I've had it less than a month! Shouldn't I take it back to the Verizon store where I bought it instead of an Apple Store? I definitely don't want to void the warranty!

My iPhone 6s home button just started to be hot about 2-3days. I don’t know what to do. I have been using it about two years ago
