Blue screen of death

Hi guys,

So recently I've bought an iPhone 5s, it has the blue screen of death. Boots to a blue screen then restarts. I tried the basic software troubleshooting steps but none have worked. When I researched it I found things such as bad screen replacements etc.

Once it gets the blue screen of death, is there any way of fixing it? Please note, I've done all the restores possible and nothing works. I've taken the battery out for 10 minutes, then 20 minutes, and it still hasn't worked. I've done everything apart from try new parts.

Is it worth trying new parts?

P.s. it has one of those fake gold "long life" batteries

My advice is to unplug the front camera ribbon cable from the logic board and try another battery. Otherwise it may be the memory / nand chip issue. I think reheating / reballing it usually solves it but I'd wait for others to comment on this first.

Hi,

BSOD usually means long screw trace damage, this is when the screws by the LCD connector shield are mixed up and put in the wrong place, it basically causes damage to the tiny traces in the logic board because the screw is too long and digs in to the logic board.

You could also try unplugging the front facing camera flex and charging port to see if it solves your issue, if not, it is more than likely trace damage, which you would need to know how to microsolder. :-)
