Why won't my Panasonic HDC-TM80 turn on anymore

I have a Panasonic HDC TM80 and it just won't turn on now. I had been filming all day but when i got home to transfer the footage to computer, it just wouldn't turn on. When plugged in to charge, the red light flashes to show it's charging. Also, when i plug it into the computer, it makes that sound to indicate a device has been recognized but instantly makes the sound to indicate a device has been ejected.

Does anyone know what might be wrong with it and if there is a way to fix it or at least recover the last things I filmed? It was saved to the camera's built in memory.

The camera is about 4 years old but i don't use it very much. On the way home from filming that day, I ran like a maniac to catch a bus with the camera in my bag, could that have damaged it somehow?

Thank you

could be a battery issue. Have you tried a different battery yet?
