no audio output device is installed

Was running windows vista, got a red x on the speaker icon on the taskbar. Wipe out my hard drive, then update to window 10, still get that no audio output device is installed. I also reinstall the Realtek HD audio driver back, and still got no sound and game controller in my device manager.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

I am wondering if the HD audio driver is not compatible (sounds like you don't have the correct driver)? I went from Vista to Windows 7 and installed what I thought to be all the drivers and now Windows Media is telling me I have no drivers to get cd to play. I am installing Windows 10 on my Toshiba Satellite now so we will see what I run into.

You need to install the drivers for your speakers. Drivers tel your computer what hardware on your pc does and how it operates. So if your pc doesnt know how to use the speakers, it wont work so search in google "Toshiba Satellite U300 speaker drivers" and you should get links to it. hint dont download automatic drivers scan tools they are viruses.
