My golfcart runs good one and not at all the next ?I put a new head light on it and it dimes or goes off when the golfcart sputters what could be the problem?

Does your golf cart engine have a starter or a battery? Since it's a 1998 model it might. I don't know anything about golf cart engines, but my parents had an issue with their 1982 Chevy Citation that was very similar. The fix was a new starter and a new battery. You might also look at the wiring and see if anything is corroded, since this is an older cart. You also might look on line and see if there's an owner's manual for your cart if you haven't got one.
