Charger flex or Battery?

Hey team,

Is there an easy way to test if the fault lies with the battery or the charging flex?

I got an iPad mini here (2nd time dealing with iPads) and it's flat. It'll ask for a charger but doesn't pick one up when it's plugged in.

Is there an easy way to test if it's the battery or the charging flex without having to buy both parts?

Even with a bad battery the iPad should still recognize being plugged in by flashing the battery symbol. First thing I would try is the chargeport, which is a solder job on the ipad mini. Hopefully that solve your problem. Unfortunately, it may not. Thats because the Mini has a known weakness that sometimes it's power management chip gives up the ghost out of nowhere and for no apparent reason. If this is the case, the ipad will not boot, charge, flash the battery symbol, or otherwise show any signs of life whatsoever. This can fixed but it is a very advanced motherboard level repair

Thanks for the response! After dismantling yesterday I've concluded the same. I watched a iPad Rehab video re~ iPad mini PMIC. I don't have the same symptoms as that. I was thinking i'll buy an icloud locked iPad and swap the boards over but realise that problaby wouldn't work either haha. I've ordered a few (in case one or more are faulty) charging flexs from ali and i'll swap the charging flex on this. Thanks again for the response.
