i5s backlight...no display after water damage
Just ran a board through water cleaning and it boots up but no display. Would it most likely be the backlight ic u23, or filter? Connector itself looks good. Thanks.
Is this a good question?

Kinda what GhostMik said. I'm hoping you cleaned a water damaged board with 90% isopropyl alcohol. You should try to test the display to see if it's faulty. The backlight could be replaced, by itself. It's kind of a difficult process
Here's a guide for that

Stephen, what you mean for "WATER CLEANING"???
Electronic boards can't be washed by simple water..
You have to use special fluid like isopropilic alcohol..
Are you sure that your display is fine?
Using a torch light you can see anything on the display?
Maybe the problem is not the ic but simply the display backlight..

Lol sorry should've been more specific. I use an ultrasonic with distilled and branson ec cleaner. Found out it's most likely the connector itself. Board is getting hot near processor now though and blue screening. Time to find the short....fun!
Thanks for the replies guys!
