Touchscreen becomes erratic after a while

I have an iPhone 5S which screen becomes erratic (top part not responding to touch, sliding gestures not recognized) after a while.

I've been able to make it happen by running 10 geekbench 3 tests in a row.

I know the display assembly has been replaced, and I'm not sure it's genuine. Problem has been present at least since the screen was replaced.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

You have a defective screen and it will have to be replaced.

Not sure if this applies to iPhones, but iPad screens (digitizers) are fully insulated against random electrical contact while some of the 3rd party screens are not. You can tell if you flip the digitizer over and see exposed metal contacts (copper) anywhere along the base leading away from the "Home" button. Some simple insulating tape or non-conductive material needs to cover these exposed points or random screen problems can crop up. Here's one video discussing this type of problem with iPad mini replacement screens:

I don't know if the iFixit screens are properly insulated or not.

There's a large EMI shield over the whole screen, and the digitizer is laminated with the screen.
