My Nexus tablet won't connect to Wi-Fi

My Nexus 10 tablet used to connect to the internet just fine, but now I cannot seem to get the Wi-Fi to connect, even with a known working network. I tried to reboot my device, but it won't work.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

I have the same problem as Brent Hoefling message above.

WiFi is on and you can see a list of AP's. when I try to connect to a known AP with a verified password, it flashes that it is connecting, and then goes back to "saved"

I just factory reset my tablet still doesn't work ????????????????????

Mine works now, but I don't know what is different. I stopped using it for months because of this issue. the battery was completely exhausted. When I tried it again, I had forgotten that the WiFi wasn't working and needed it for something and charged it back up. of course there were lots of app updates, and since I had forgotten that the WiFi wasn't supposed to be working, It didn't seem strange that there were so many upadtes available.

Sorry, I can't help you with what happened, other than letting the battery go all the way down and sit in the bottom of my drawer for a long time. :(

I was having a similar problem and came across this thread. To prevent similar issues as https://xkcd.com/979/ , I will post my findings.

It appears that PMF (Protected Management Frames) interfere with WiFi connections on the Nexus 10. My AP (Ubiquiti) had PMF set to Optional. When I set PMF to Disabled, my Nexus 10 connected right away.

Eric, thank you! the PMF setting was exactly the issue and disabling it resolved my Nexus 10 connectivity issues!

Most often, problems like these are caused by simple issues. As seen on the Nexus 10 Troubleshooting page, WiFi connection issues are most often caused by simple problems.

Make sure that WiFi is on and Airplane Mode is off. Either of these would stop you from connecting to a network.

in my case, I know airplane mode is off, because WiFi is on and you can see a list of AP's. when I try to connect to a known AP with a verified password, it flashes that it is connecting, and then goes back to "saved"

Ditto. I can see the network, it says it's connected but the tablet isn't registering it. I rebooted, no luck.

Its the same issue for me, I have tried to install LineageOS 14.1 and 16 version. On LineageOS 16 version Wlan works but there is problem with casting/screen sharing. Any solutions to wlan would be welcome

Maybe this is waaay late, but just had the same issue. After finding this thread I tried a few things and it seems to be the DATE; my tablet also got a dried out battery so the date was set incorrectly. After changing the date, magic!

Works fine now
