Swapping out ssd with other mbp.

My macbook pro crashed and it won't do anything anymore. I want to backup my data but offcourse its impossible on a dead mbp. A friend of mine has the same model as I have. Would it be possible to put my ssd into his mbp and boot as if it was my mbp?

That should work. Then back up to an external drive. Dis connect the battery before switching cards!

It's less than 1 year old, so yes.

Don't do anything to void your warranty! Hopefully you have used iCloud or an external backup, so your user data is safe. Take it to Apple or an ASP and get it fixed. According to what the problem is consider taking out AppleCare for an additional two years of warranty. (A very good idea on a machine that fails within the first year).

Would I void the waranty if I opened it? Because I have no backup.

No, just make sure to use the right tools and not to make any scratches. Handle it as little a possible, and don't get grubby finger prints all over the inside, and don't mention that you've been into it.
