got wet, replaced battery, dock connector still will not charge

After falling with my iphone 3G in the pool, I dried out the phone (putting in a bag of rice) it worked fine until the battery went dead it did not charge up again. Replaced the battery worked great until battery went down, same no charging. Replaced the *$#! connector still does not charge. Any other advice?

Thanks for any suggestions.
