Replaced superdrive, disc still won't insert.

Hi -- I replaced the superdrive in my mac mini and it's still not accepting CDs. Maybe the drive I got is also bad, but I'm wondering if maybe I should do the cable next?

What was the source of your part? Go under the Apple to about this Mac > more info or system report > Disk Burning and see if the drive is even being seen.

Yes, it shows up in system info under disc burning 'hl-dt-st dvdrw ga32n'. Any other ideas?

It could be a faulty drive. Exactly what was the old drive doing and is the new one doing the same? Do you hear it or the old one trying to access the drive on start up?
