Speaker won't work after charge dock replacement

I just replaced the charging dock/strip in my 5s and after getting all back together the speaker won't work! No music, no ringing, nothing. The headphone jack (witch is part of the charge strip) works fine.

I got my kit from ifixit through amazon.

After taking it apart again and comparing the strip to the original one I noticed the 2 flat copper contact points on the strip are a bit smaller than the originals so I focused on trying to make sure they touch the 2 springy points on the under side of the speaker assembly.

Do the side peg that slides under the home button connection has anything to do with my problem?

Any input is appreciated! Thank you

Answer this question I have this problem too

The loud speaker lies on top of the dock connector and makes a connection with two contact points I believe. Double check the loud speaker prongs look fine. If so probably a defective dock connector.

Quick test would be to swap the old back in and see if the loud speaker works.

I see this all the time with iPhone 5c charging ports and home buttons. Many times a customer's home flex won't work and it's due to the prongs being damaged on the charging port.

In a nutshell try the old charging port, if it works you know your new charging port is bad. If it doesn't work inspect for damage to the loud speaker.

Most likely just a defect in the new charge port....happens all the time.

Yep can definite relate with iPhone 5C charger ports. I've had defective ones where it doesn't charge or bottom microphone on charger port not working.

Not sure what is with iPhone 5C charger port replacements but I've gotten many faulty ones.
