MacBook not power on, no lights, no sound, nothing.

Hello,

I have macbook (white) 4,1 early 2008 (160gb hd).

One day I tried to start the mac up but it does't react at all.

there is no lights at all, even no on the magsafe plug, also there is no sound came from the mac - absolutely nothing.

I tried the magsafe on another mac and it working good.

i'm not using the battery a while since it swollen, so i used this mac as a desktop mac, it always connected to power supply while in use.

I tried the whole thing with the 10 seconds holding the power button, not helping.

I tried to replace or put out the memory card, not helping.

I opened the mac try to see something burn but everything looks ok.

currently it still open i thought maybe to buy magsafe board from ebay and try to replace it.

what do you think ? any suggestion or similar cases you faced before ?

I tried to google but there was no something exactly as I described (without any lights).

Thanks for any help.

Ok it was the magsafe itself.

I replaced it with brand new and it's working.

A new MagSafe port may work but considering the age of that model, it may be dead. If you feel good about opening it up, there is a guide here on ifixit, check your MagSafe connection.

Thanks for your comment.

I opened it already and it's looks good.

I cut the MagSafe power cable and check the Volt coming out, I understand I should got something around 16V, but I actually got 0.2V.

I'm not some electricity expert but when I checked an AA Battery I saw a fixed 1.5V , so the multi-meter work fine.

So I ordered from china, a new MagSafe. I'll update with results.
