Water Damaged MotoG Generation1 Turns On But Touch Screen Doesn't Work

My phone was dropped in water and it turned off. As to the fact Motorola doesn't allow this phones battery to be removed, I left it off and stuck it in a bag of rice for a day. The phone will now turn on, but the screen looks like there's still water in it. I tried to turn it off so it could dry another day or two, but the screen doesn't react. The next thing I tried was holding the power button so it would go off, but of course its a reset button so it keeps turning on. The volume and lock screen buttons work fine. I'm getting a new phone soon, but there are very dear photos to me and I was wondering if I can somehow recover them even if the screen doesn't work after another day or two of being in rice.

I had this problem after my phone was submerged in water for 10 minutes, and despite my best efforts to dry it out, the touch screen was still unresponsive. I bought a USB - micro USB OTG (on the go), which you can buy for less than £5 on amazon, and then plugged mouse in to the phone. This allowed me to test whether anything else was broken. It took a while to get the hang of swiping (e.g. to unlock the phone) but you can swipe with the mouse. I was able to make and receive calls, take photos, and connect to WIFI, but my laptop wont recognise the phone for me to transfer the data with a cable. To get around this I just changed my settings in google photos so that all my photos now back up to the cloud. Now I can download them from https://photos.google.com/ Problem solved. Hope this works for you!
