Approximately one third the picture one my vizio E470i-A0's screen is noticeably darker than the rest of the image. Is there any way I can repair this, either myself or professionally, or will do I have to get a new TV?

@davidmicheal could be a bad panel or a bad backlight. HAve you taken the back off and checked the boards and cables for obvious faults? Post some images of your boards with your question. Use this guide Adding images to an existing question for that.
