Why will printer print on regular paper, but not photo paper?

I use my HP envy printer primarily for photos. Just recently, it began having trouble advancing the photo quality paper through. As a result, I just wind up with a few multicolored lines. I ran through regular copy paper at an express setting, and it printed fine. I have changed out the printer cartridges, and the new ones aligned just fine. Has anyone encountered this before?
