nano 4g beeps twice when plugged into computer

Any idea why this does this? Also, the LCD is not working now, is this why it beeps? Thanks for your responses.

Old but will try to help a bit more for other people. Of my understanding if the screen isn't picked up by the iPod it will beep like that if you try to turn it on. Sounds like a bad connection or bad lcd screen.

No...no white screen, just a dark screen as if it were turned off. Also, it does nothing at all when plugged in to computer.(Not recognized by iTunes)

I have had one that had interesting finds from nanos with water damage. Appears the ipod splits its detection of the screen into two sections. First is the backlight (left few pins of ribbon cable), and the second is the actual display picture. I had one go from no backlight but working fine to only white screen with backlight on to fully working with backlight on just by working with the ribbon cable cleaning and such. Also look inside the connector on the LCD. Even though it is a replacement, there still could be signs of water damage there. Last thing I would say is wrong is the ribbon from the logic board to the LCD screen went bad. To fix that you would need another logic board.
