Screen replacement but screen is black!

Hello to all, unfortunately I'm very unlucky when it comes to iphones, I have owned this iPhone 5 for a very long time, been dropped a few times, never gotten contact with water ive changed the screen once, and it worked fine!!! finally broke my screen last week, and ordered another screen and replaced it today! My iPhone does not show any image when powered up, I can only see abit of light on the top where the( camera is )

However I realized something when I was doing the screen changement, a black cable\tape with a little clip I a imagine, I got a picture to include to show you guys!

I plugged in my broken screen and I can see more than my new screen, so p

Sounds like a faulty screen. Send it back and get a replacement

Options

First I would double check your connections and make sure you're connecting the new display properly. If you feel the new one is faulty, you can request and exchange, from where you got it from. If there's been logic board damage, that could be a whole new can of worms. However, if the old display works, then it's likely not logic board damage. Here's a guide to help you

I think the new one is faulty!!! that little black clip does what exactly? that was only the weird thing I had spotted when doing my screen replacement!!, I followed a youtube video while doing the replacement, ive already done it more than once as well!!! ..... heres a picture on what its doing, phone powers up but no image, I can also swipe.... so its mainly the image that's not showing.
