Display doesn't work after optical drive replacement. Any ideas?

Hey there,

after changing the optical drive for my old macbook core 2 duo, i booted but the screen shows only black. the macbook seems to boot normally, i can control it with the keyboard (switch off and some easy key combinations).

with the dimmer on f2 i can lighten up the black a bit, so there's a difference in the screen compared to when the macbook is switched off.

is it possible that i've damaged the screen cable? a inverter problem, maybe the RAM? or the logic board? (i hope not ;) )

at the moment i unfortunately don't have the opportunity to connect an external screen would that be helpfull?

I would be glad if someone can help me!!

all the best,

stephan

Recheck your cables--you may have loosened the cables to the LCD when you were changing the optical drive.
