will the iPhone boot without this chip

my iphone 4s logic board have missing small chip (U18_RF) so the phone will turn on ?

That is voltage regulation to the baseband. I would be surprised if it will boot without it.

I don't know that you've given the correct information to get a good answer from us. What were you doing when you damaged that component? I somewhat doubt that is the only thing damaged... Why is that component missing?

that is not surprising, it goes through hardware checks on bootup, sounds like its getting to baseband and failing the checks so it goes into a loop re-trying and continuing to fail to boot.

the phone will say just "searching'", and has not imei number. You use this phone as ipod, or desolder this voltage regulator.
