Power button, sound and vibration missing after repairs.

iPhone 5c

What happened - Top ribbon cable is torn just before Volume up/Volume down

What doesn't work - Volume buttons, Power button, Speakers, Vibration (Vibration switch itself works and I can switch silent mode on)

I have ordered a new cable, however I am puzzled - why the loudspeaker doesn't work? Loudspeaker is at the other side of phone. I wonder if this top ribbon cable could have affected the loudspeaker somehow, or do I have some other unknow defects, besides the torn upper ribbon?

EDIT: After shaking the phone, loudspeaker starts to work again at some moments. So I guess that that it is not related to power button problem.

Options

the loudspeaker makes contact with the charge port flex cable at two points. make sure the two points are lining up with the two pins on the loudspeaker. What repair did you do to the device that you damaged the volume flex? (word of caution, replacing the volume flex on an iphone 5c is a dreaded process and is an annoying pain in the rear. Be very careful to not tear your new one)

I was changing the whole rear plastic case. It is quite difficult to see whether the speaker connector lines up with the flex pins, but I assume that they should be correctly placed. However I wonder if the metallic tape under the bottom flex has any significance.

Theres a possibility you put a small tear in the charge port flex cable near where it meets the edge of the logic board or where the tail comes off to the connector. I'd look at that as well. It could cause the loudspeaker issue but I'd expect it to not be intermittent if that were the case.

when you replace the volume flex, the toggle switch is held in place with heat stakes. You'll break them out of course but it is important for correct function and so it doesn't fall apart that you re-heat stake those 3 points. Most people do it with the tip of a soldering iron to melt the end off and form it to the little well it sits in. A heated metal poker of some sort, nail, etc. would also work if you don't have a soldering iron.

Ohh, I didn't know about the heat staking, I'll do that when get the new parts. Ironically enough, my vibration and the switch suddenly started working again. Only power button and sound are missing now. I have ordered new flex cables and will try to find the faulty one. Thanks for your tips!
