Battery Issues after screen replacement

Hello.

I run a small repair business and have recently come into an issue with the I pad air after a screen replacement.

I have repaired a large number of these with out issue but I have had 2 (my personnel one included) that have caused me issues.

I do checks before all repairs and make sure that the devices charge at least 2%.

I always disconnect the battery before LCD removal.

The screen replacement went smooth. All screws returned to the correct spots etc.

I then check functions again before closing up.

Had no problems but a day or 2 later my own personnel I Pad wont charge past 1% and now my clients I pad just shows the red charge battery symbol and wont boot.

I have restored both and put the latest updates on them.

I use an genuine Apple charger 12W and USB cable and use mains/wall power. I have a few lying around and have tried others with no luck.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks

I would try reopening the devices and cleaning the battery contacts with an alcohol pad.

Thanks. This will be the next step.

Hello I have a similar issue after DIY screen repair. The Unit does In fact charge but Drains Rapidly when in standby. Occasionally it will show it only charged 1% and in Red then quickly changes to 100% in green?

For the most help please ask a new question. Have you tried reseating the battery connector and cleaning it using an alcohol pad?

I had the same issue... I disconnected the battery and mad sure that I had a very connection before I replaced the screw & screen... which resolved my issue and may resolve yours. Good Luck

I had this same issue and found that I had put one of LCD screws in the battery connector. Once I swapped to the right longer screw it worked again.

Are you using the larger brick charger that comes with the iPads? I take it those chargers will charge other devices like iPhones? It's strange that it's not charging your iPad or the air???

Thanks. I used both the one that came with our own device and the older style. Thanks. I used the original charger that came with our device and a older style one. Both were tested and working on another ipad air.

I saw that problem many times, remove the black plastic tape cover and see if is something loose (Component Level), if you can’t see use a microscope or you cell-phone zoom camera. Also you said that you always remove the battery, and in this model is really hard pull the motherboard, you have to heat the back to remove the connection between the battery and motherboard, you can check if the battery pins are intact or may there is a damage there. Good Luck!
