Is it possible to upgrade the memory and SSD on MacBook Air?

Hopefully it's as simple as the title suggests, but is it possible to upgrade the memory on the memory and SSD?

Doing searches and I'm still kinda confused since there are a plethora of answers out there and more so for the 2015, but not so much for the 2016.

Unless is it safe to assume that a 2016 model is simply a model from 2015?

Up to 512GB flash storage. Probably non-upgradeable for several years
