Blue screen with a sad face.

The battery gives no indication of being flat or not. It usually has a tiny light (green or red to indicate ok or empty). I tried plugging the charger in ; then the battery light still doesn't show and the phone buzzes at regular intervals. when I turn the phone on I only get a blue screen with a sad face :-(
