Dvd broken. Replacement possible?

Hi.

My DVD doesn't work anymore.

I also have a IMac G5 which doesn't work anymore but which also has a functionable DVD.

Is it possible to replace the DVD from the MacBook Pro with the DVD from the IMac?

Not enough information for a accurate answer--need to the model number of both computers

The MacBook Pro is A1226 and

the IMac is A1207

The MacBook drive is 9.5 mm high and the iMac drive is 12.7 mm high.
