How can I repair a bad headphone jack?

The jack is funky and only works if I fiddle with it and put some pressure on the plug. My fear is the 1/8" stereo jack might be attached to the logic board which would make replacing it tricky. Is this doable?

The headphone jack is soldered to the logic board--sorry. Repair is possible if you have a donor board and are capable of some tricky soldering.

So how much for a new logic board and is it easy to change out ? Am I better off taking it to a Mac store for repair ?

== Update ==

It is a 12" alimunim not a 15, can a new jack just be soldered on or is it only avaliable as part of the board?
